Country Radio Broadcasters has named Dolly Parton its 2027 Artist Humanitarian Award recipient. The organization will present the honor posthumously at Country Radio Seminar 2027 in Nashville.
What We Know: CRS 2027 runs March 17–19 in Nashville. Importantly, CRB told Parton about the honor before she died on August 25 at age 80. Her charitable work spanned education, healthcare, disaster relief and medical research. Notably, her Imagination Library, launched in 1995, has delivered millions of free books to young children worldwide.
What They Said: RJ Curtis, CRS Executive Director: “The word ‘humanitarian’ is nearly synonymous with Dolly Parton. Her decades of generosity and philanthropy speak for themselves, and CRB was honored when Dolly agreed to accept this recognition earlier this year. Though she won’t be with us in person at CRS, her extraordinary spirit and enduring commitment to making the world a better place will continue to inspire us all.”
What Remains Unclear: However, CRB has not shared who will accept the award on Parton’s behalf. Additionally, the organization has not detailed the format of the presentation. Instead, CRB says it will announce more details at a later date. For now, it also remains unclear whether Parton’s family will take part in the ceremony.
What It Means: Ultimately, the award places Parton alongside past honorees like Jelly Roll, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood. Since 1990, CRB has used this honor to celebrate country artists who give back. However, Parton’s recognition carries added weight following her death. As a result, the presentation now doubles as a tribute to her lasting legacy.
