Milwaukee Bucks Taking Broadcast Distribution In House with Bucks+

"We’re happy to add a streaming option to our over-the-air broadcasts to ensure every fan can follow Bucks basketball at home or on any streaming device as we build our next great era."

Date:

The Milwaukee Bucks have launched Bucks+, a direct-to-consumer streaming service for fans statewide. Bucks+ debuts Monday, October 5, when the Bucks host Minnesota in their preseason opener.

What We Know: Bucks+ carries every locally televised Bucks game during the 2026-27 season. Wisconsin fans can subscribe for $19.99 monthly or $99.99 for the season through the NBA app. Meanwhile, those games also air free on MY24 in Milwaukee and WBAY 2.3 in Green Bay. Likewise, WISC 3.2 serves Madison, WKBT 8.2 covers La Crosse-Eau Claire, and WJFW 12.2 reaches Wausau-Rhinelander. According to reporting by Sports Business Journal, if the team had not traded Giannis Antetokounmpo, the franchise might have contemplated migrating to DAZN. However, SBJ reports the Bucks front office felt that with Antetokounmpo and a championship roster, fans might have followed them anywhere they went.

What They Said: Josh Glessing, Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President: “Bucks+ is an exciting way to broaden access to Bucks games for our fans throughout Wisconsin this season. We’re happy to add a streaming option to our over-the-air broadcasts. To ensure every fan can follow Bucks basketball at home or on any streaming device as we build our next great era.”

What Remains Unclear: The franchise has not confirmed nor denied the reporting by SBJ. Whether or not the team will eclipse the reported million dollar plus offers other teams in the league are receiving from DAZN with their in house production is unknown.

What It Means: Ultimately, the Bucks are betting on a hybrid model. Free broadcasts keep games in front of the widest possible audience. At the same time, Bucks+ gives cord-cutters a direct path to every local telecast. As a result, the team now controls more of its own distribution heading into a new era.
