Cataldi announced he would retire in 2022 in October of last year. The 71-year-old then said he would continue on the station's morning show until the Philadelphia Eagles season concluded.
"That's Nick 'Fitzy' Stevens. Why do they call the guy Fitzy if his name is Nick Stevens?," Matt Spiegel asked. "I can't figure that out. 'Hey, we need a Fitzy!'"
It is all but a formality that the team will move its radio broadcasts to the iHeartMedia cluster in South Florida, which includes Newsradio 610 WIOD and Fox Sports 940, as options to air the games.
"Steve Levy is a puker, but he's a competent broadcaster. He's a great guy, and a very good broadcaster, and I used to play softball with him, but he's a puker."
