Cumulus Media has cut ties with the Podcast Movement after a debacle last month involving Daily Wire editor-in-chief and radio personality Ben Shapiro.

"If this is a conference about podcasting, and you have someone in attendance who excels at it, has a massive following, and their company is supporting your event as a sponsor, why are you treating them like a disease?"

The video is literally Ben Shapiro walking around, taking pictures, and shaking peoples hands. The podcast people are apologizing. They're not apologizing, they're being crucified for exaggerating."

Podcast Movement later admitted they sold The Daily Wire -- the conservative outlet Shapiro co-founded with filmmaker Jeremy Boreing -- a booth in the expo area due to their presence in the podcasting space. They didn't expect, however, for Shapiro to make an appearance at the conference.

According to Brandastic, podcast listeners consume an average of seven shows per week, and around 24% of the U.S. population (68 million) listen to multiple podcasts weekly.

There was no shortage of news media reaction when the official overturning of Roe v. Wade came down, some celebrating it while others shared concern.

Other news media podcasts that are in the top ten include The New York Times' "The Daily," "NBC Dateline," and "The Ben Shapiro Show."
