The Free Press, established by Weiss following her high-profile exit from The New York Times, was purchased by CBS News parent company Paramount Skydance last year for a reported $150 million.

There's a reason good managers don't immediately start making sweeping decisions and widespread changes in their first days.

CBS News isn't perfect. And neither is Weiss. But there's an area she can certainly make a difference.
