Since Monday, 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia has been teasing a major announcement. Today, the station delivered.
On the temporarily-titled, The Afternoon Show, host Tyrone Johnson opened the segment by wasting no time and announced that he would be “removing the interim title” from his name, He would be the new host of The Fanatic’s afternoon show.
But, he “would not be alone”. He also announced that he would be joined by Hunter Brody and former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Ricky Bottalico. Jennifer Scordo would also continue with the show as the program’s producer.
Johnson also revealed there would be a brand new name for the show too, The Best Show Ever. Why the name?
“I have always said that this city has the best fans ever,” said Johnson, “why not do the best show ever?”
Johnson also said that the show would continue to simulcast on NBC Sports Philadelphia and would officially begin on August 1.
The Fanatic’s Program Director, Chuck D’Amico released a statement on the station’s website:

This eclectic and diverse group of passionate, knowledgeable, and fun Philadelphia Sports experts bring you a show that truly offers something for every fan.”
The Fanatic had been without a regular afternoon show since Mike Missanelli exited the show and station in May.
