The veteran television voice of the Philadelphia Phillies, Tom McCarthy, will not be in the NBC Sports Philadelphia booth this weekend because the NFL awaits his voice.
McCarthy will be on the CBS call of the Houston Texas vs. the Indianapolis Colts. This is the ninth year of McCarthy calling NFL games on CBS.
McCarthy will be replaced by Scott Franzke, the longtime Phillies radio announcer. He will be joined by John Kruk in the NBC Sports Philadelphia booth.
On the radio side, Franzke will be replaced by Pat McCarthy, the voice of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the triple-A affiliate of the Phillies. McCarthy is Tom’s son. Next to him will be Larry Anderson, the longtime Phillies announcer.
McCarthy will also miss two Phillies games next week against the Atlanta Braves o to call the Colts/Jacksonville Jaguars game on CBS.
