CNBC anchor Carl Quintanilla recovered quickly last week after accidentally calling Disney CEO Bob Chapek “Bob Paycheck.”
The mishap was covered by Pirates and Princesses and quickly elicited a reaction from Twitter. “We call him Rob Paycheck,” one user said.
Quintanilla’s slip of the tongue was heard on “The Squawk Box” before journalist David Faber interviewed Chapek for nearly 20 minutes.
“Couple of huge interviews this hour–Disney’s Chief, ‘Bob Paycheck’, Chapek, as well as an exclusive with Verizon’s Hans Vesper.”
“Uhhh, CNBC definitely just called Bob Chapek ‘Bob Paycheck’ on live television,” tweeted a user.
“I mean it could have been worse. Carl could have called him Bob Beancounter,” responded someone else.
According to Investopedia, Chapek was paid $32 million last year, earning bonus incentives and stock options totaling nearly $28 million.
Furthermore, information from Insidemagic.net reveals that Chapek has been called “Rob Paycheck,” “Bob Beancounter,” and “Bob Cheap-ek” by some of his detractors.
