Amazon Can Still Air NFL Games if Jeff Bezos Buys The Commanders, But Dan Snyder Doesn’t Want To Sell To Him

Date:

The Washington Commanders could potentially be for sale, and many have viewed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, currently the fourth richest person in the world, as a potential buyer. theMMQB.com’s Albert Breer made it clear that if Bezos was the buyer, it wouldn’t cause the NFL to find a new partner for Thursday Night Football.

During an interview with Toucher & Rich on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Breer clarified a potential issue with the sale.

“They think it’s less of an issue now that he’s stepped down as CEO. Okay. He’ll be able to do it. There’s been a perception out there that Bezos is interested in buying an NFL team and it would wind up either being Washington or Seattle. Seattle could go for sale in the next few years, too.”

However, Breer said it was unlikely a deal between Snyder — who will have the final say in the sale — and Bezos is unlikely.

“The one thing I have heard is that Dan Snyder will not sell to Bezos because he hates The Washington Post.”
