In a surprising move, ESPN NFL analyst Jeff Saturday has been named the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts after the franchise fired head coach Frank Reich Monday.

Saturday, who is in the Colts Ring of Honor, played in Indianapolis from 1999-2011. After his playing career ended in 2012, he joined ESPN as an NFL analyst, contributing to SportsCenter, Get Up, and NFL Live, among others.

“Jeff has been a beloved, integral member of our NFL family for nearly a decade,” ESPN Executive Producer Seth Markman said in a statement released on Twitter. “When he came to us about this incredible opportunity he had with the Colts, we were thrilled for him and his family. We wish him the best of luck as he makes his NFL head coaching debut.”
