Trent Dilfer makes weekly appearances on Parkins & Spiegel on 670 The Score in Chicago. Last week, Dilfer was a guest on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and mentioned he “does a radio show out of Chicago” instead of saying “Parkins & Spiegel“. The hosts jokingly let Dilfer have it over the slight.
The segment usually begins with highlights of Dilfer’s greatest moments from his NFL playing days. Monday, the segment opened with lowlights, with commentary from his interceptions. In one instance, former CBS Sports NFL analyst Dan Dierdorf saying “it couldn’t be much easier to intercept this ball thrown by Trent Dilfer” and “Trent Dilfer never saw it coming”.
“You don’t say our name to Colin Cowherd. Oh ‘a radio out of Chicago’. Forgets us when he gets all big again,” Danny Parkins said to the former NFL quarterback. “I get it when he’s on Monday Night Football, but god, unbelievable.”
“I deserve all of that and more,” responded Dilfer, who had previously said the original opening of the segment was the best moment of his week.
“(If) you want your good intro back, Trent Dilfer, you owe us a Dan Patrick Show, a (Dan) Le Batard Show, a Cowherd show,'” Parkins shot back. “You owe us a ‘Parkins & Spiegel’ or at the very least a ‘The Score’. You owe us now.”
“I got Herd tomorrow and (Ryen) Russillo next week. I’ll make sure to shout you guys,” Dilfer promised.
“Then we can deliver back the good vibes we know you need,” concluded Matt Spiegel.
