Doug Gottlieb: Saying ‘Lamar Jackson Needs To Be Paid’ Is Trying To ‘Win Some Stupid Argument’

Date:

There are many NFL pundits who have argued the Baltimore Ravens need to give Lamar Jackson a large contract. FOX Sports Radio host Doug Gottlieb is dumbfounded by those sentiments and shared his counter-argument on Tuesday.

“You’ll hear people say ‘You need to pay Lamar Jackson’,” Gottlieb said. “Why do we omit the truth because we want to win some stupid argument? Why do we do that? The idea of paying him would lead you to believe that you didn’t know anything about the situation. You had people go on radio and TV today and say you need to pay Lamar Jackson.”

Gottlieb continued by saying those saying the Ravens need to pay him aren’t aware of the entire picture, noting the club can hold onto him for three more seasons with the franchise tag and the transition tag before they need to open the bank vault for his contract.

“I’ve heard on like six different shows today ‘They need to pay Lamar Jackson’. They never said they weren’t gonna pay Lamar Jackson! This is exhausting! You are all exhausting! Because what you will do — and I’m so glad today is election day so we can stop hearing all these nonsensical commercials — is omit half of it. That’s who we have become. We’re disgraceful. I’ve heard people on six different shows, television and radio, saying ‘The Ravens really need to Lamar’. They offered to pay Lamar! More money than they’ve ever offered to pay anyone ever!”
