Gregg Henson Exits WRVA, WRNL to Return to the Airwaves in Michigan

Date:

Gregg Henson is heading home. After four years in Virginia serving as Audacy’s program director of news/talk station WRVA and sports station 910 The Fan, Henson is back behind the microphone. He’s returned to Grand Rapids as morning host on classic rock station 97 WLAV-FM.

Henson has been well traveled during his radio career. He’s enjoyed on-air and programming stops in news/talk, sports and music in many top markets including Detroit, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Austin. He’s also worked in smaller cities such as Fort Wayne, Lincoln, and most recently, Richmond.

WRVA performed well under Henson’s watch. The station has consistently appeared in the Top 10 with Persons 12+. The search for his replacement should begin soon. Zach McHugh will take the reigns in the interim until a permanent decision is made.
