Boomer Esiason: Jets Fans in The Media ‘Are All In Concert’ on Negativity

Date:

Rich Eisen has never hidden the fact that he is a fan of the New York Jets. The Brooklyn native may be an employee of the NFL, but he still has a favorite team.

That fact is not lost on Boomer & Gio. On Tuesday, the WFAN morning duo enjoyed some audio from the Monday edition of The Rich Eisen Show.

“If it doesn’t happen, if the dream doesn’t come true for New York fans, Ryan Tannehill?” one of Eisen’s producers asked, to which the host responded with a gasp and “Oh gosh!”

Gregg Giannotti was a little shocked by Eisen’s bluntness.

“You do represent the league in a way, right?” He asked. “I know he’s a diehard Jets fan, but he made it seem like ‘oof!’”.

Boomer Esiason said that Eisen is not alone. He pointed to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, who is also a Jets fan. The former Jets’ quarterback said that there is a theme to the way these guys talk about their favorite NFL franchise. Even when on a national stage, the Jets make them sound like New York sports radio hosts.

“They all carry that same negative tone that Joe [Beningo] has here, that Evan [Roberts] has,” Esiason said. “It’s amazing how they are all in concert with one another.”
