The Metro Radio Group-owned sports radio station will continue to be heard on 1400 AM/99.3 FM in Norman, 1430 AM in Tulsa, 1380 AM in Lawton, and 1320 AM in Clinton/Weatherford.

In a tweet announcing the move, the station wrote “We appreciate iHeart for their affiliation. KREF has added thousands of new listeners as evidenced by the 425% growth on the app over the last two years.

“Fear not, our commitment to bringing you the best coverage of the Sooners remains stronger than ever!… We appreciate the Ref Army and look forward to growing our listenership for many years to come.”

In the latest Oklahoma City Nielsen ratings, 98.1 The Sports Animal led the sports landscape with a 2.8 share. In addition to KREF, Oklahoma City also features sports radio programming from 107.7 The Franchise.

iHeartMedia Oklahoma City has yet to announce plans for the station after the current affiliation ends at 6:00 PM next Friday.
