Since leaving office, former President Donald Trump will give his first interview on a broadcast network. The discussion will be with Kristen Welker, who is debuting as the host of NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday.
According to a statement released by the network, the interview with Trump will be recorded in advance at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club on Thursday. President Joe Biden was also invited to participate in the discussion. Trump last appeared on the show in 2019.
The frontrunner for the 2024 GOP nomination has avoided giving many interviews to mainstream media outlets. He is a frequent guest on conservative podcasts, radio shows, and cable networks. He also expresses his views through posts and videos on his Truth Social.
On Thursday, Trump is scheduled to appear on Megyn Kelly’s SiriusXM show. The interview will be the first between the two since the 2016 presidential campaign. The interview was taped on Wednesday in New Jersey. During the 2015 Republican primary debate, Kelly and Trump clashed when Kelly questioned him about his history of making derogatory remarks about women.
Trump has previously praised Welker’s performance moderating the second presidential debate in 2020.
