CNN has announced the promotion of Priscilla Alvarez to a correspondent role covering the White House.
Alvarez joined the cable news network in 2019 as a reporter, traveling across the U.S.-Mexico border covering immigration politics and policy.

She was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work in covering a group of Haitian migrants converging on the southern border in hopes of entering the country.
A Virginia Tech graduate, Alvarez is based in Washington D.C., and will remain there in her new role.
In a post to X, Alvarez shared her excitement.
“Luck to work with this incredible team,” she wrote. “More to come!”
