Earlier this week, SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly raised eyebrows when she said CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins needed to be less of a “cold-hearted bitch” on the air. NewsNation host Chris Cuomo believes Kelly should follow her own advice.
While appearing on The PBD Podcast, Cuomo argued that Kelly should be the last person to give such advice to a young female cable news anchor.
“There’s a little bit of irony that she’s giving Collins advice that she couldn’t follow herself which was one of the reasons she failed at the network level,” said Cuomo.
Cuomo, who previously worked at CNN, called Kelly’s comments about Collins — which included instructions that she should “smile more” — were all performative and part of the SiriusXM host’s act.
“Megyn Kelly has made a decision, which is: the reason I can get people following me is because I’m going to say really obnoxious stuff about people and situations that matter,” Cuomo posited. “But, again, does anybody believe that’s Megyn Kelly’s secret sauce? That she knows how to be warm and can drop the hammer when she needs to? I just think she’s giving advice that she didn’t follow.”
Kaitlan Collins has yet to respond to the comments made by Megyn Kelly.
