Georgia Tech fans are wondering what happened to their radio analyst. The team played Syracuse this weekend in college football and Georgia Tech legend Joe Hamilton was not in his usual spot alongside Andy Demetra in the team’s radio booth. What is more concerning is that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution did some checking to see what the reason was for Hamilton’s absence and has not gotten anyone to explain.

According to the story, they reached out to the school for comment on the situation and they were referred to Georgia Tech flagship station 680 The Fan where Hamilton is also a part of their morning show. Hamilton is one of the co-hosts of The Locker Room with Brian Finneran, Brandon Leak and John Michael.

The College Football Hall of Famer was replaced in the booth this weekend by former team analyst and former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Sean Bedford.

Hamilton is one of the best players in the history of the program. A former South Carolina High School Player of the Year in both football and basketball, he played for Georgia Tech from 1996-1999 and in his senior year was named a first-team All-American who was also a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Hamilton has worked on the team broadcasts since being added to the pregame show in 2021. According to the newspaper, this is the first game Hamilton has missed since he started.
