The Latino Media Network has launched Puro Tejano 1530 AM, a new Tejano music station serving the Rio Grande Valley in McAllen, TX.
1530 AM operates at 50,000 watts daytime, allowing it to reach over 1 million potential Hispanic listeners.
Vicky Guerrero, Texas Regional General Manager, said, “KYWW Puro Tejano 1530 AM is more than a station — it’s a revival of the Valley’s deep-rooted Tejano music culture.” “We’re proud to bring the community a station that reflects their heritage, celebrates their music, and connects listeners across generations with the authentic Tejano sound they love.”
The music mix features Tejano legends such as Selena, Emilio Navaira, La Mafia, and Mazz, alongside rising stars like Siggno, Solido, and Grupo Frontera.
The station was part of the station group LMN purchased from Univision in 2022.
