710 WOR is making a change to its daily lineup by adding Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla to the fray.
A former New York City taxi driver, Failla’s show will air from 9 PM-12 AM on the iHeartMedia New York news/talk station. It will replace The John Batchelor Show from CBS News Radio in the timeslot.
“As a former NYC cab driver who spent all day listening to WOR, the idea of joining this iconic station feels like something straight out of a movie,” said Failla. “Hopefully, I don’t get as many red-light tickets this time around.”
In a post to social media, Failla — who also does standup comedy — joked that it was a “great day for community college grads everywhere!”
The program will air on 710 WOR on a tape-delay basis, as it airs live from 12-3 PM ET.
“Known for his sharp wit, fearless takes and refreshing lightness in the political world, we are delighted to welcome Jimmy to the WOR family and to be heard in his hometown,” 710 WOR Program Director Tom Cuddy said. “Jimmy’s show informs and entertains, which is a perfect combination for our tri-state area audience.”

You replaced an intellectual genius, who brought the wide world of reality into our homes through WOR AM terrestrial radio, with a light weight former taxi driver. Unfathomable and highly disappointing.
I’m through with WOR. John Batchelor is an amazing interviewer and host. Replacing him with another FOX talking head makes WOR no better than WABC.
John Batchelor is amazing. He’s very bright and a good interviewer. He covers a wide range of topics. History, past notable Americans, space exploration, science and many more. It’s a good respite to most shows that cover just politics. By night time I’ve had enough of that. I no longer listen to the morning show once they let Len Berman go. He was excellent. Larry Mente. No Hope to find you John Batchelor on another station.
I feel similar to the others who have commented on the end of the John Bachelor Show. I mean no ill feelings to Failla; I assume that he is a good fellow. However, I and many, many others have had a special relationship with John Bachelor. Over the years he has become a family member. He is the extremely bright “brother” to whom everyone listens whenever he speaks. He is the brightest guy at the table – show after show. WOR has displayed a lack of intellect by terminating a truly wonderful show that unlike any other show, is intellectual at its core. I hope that some other venue will exercise the wisdom that the management of WOR lacks. Best wishes to John and my brothers and sisters who are his fans.
Just another example of the dumbing down if America. i will no longer listen to WOR but will consider my echo dot my AM radio and ask Alexa to play WMAL who has all of Levin and Batch from 6pm till 1am. Headphones in the dot if you need. Adios WOR!
WOR has replaced a radio PHD with a high school sophomore. No disrespect to Fialla but listeners can get that shtick up and down the dial. JB is a treasure and the only reason 710 was saved on my radio. .
I like JimmyF but loosing John Bachelor is very disappointing to say the least! His insightfulness & ability to get to the crux of the topic is extraordinary. In addition his guests were always informative. Been loosening for years. WHAT A SHAME! Will go online to listen to the king of the interview – JOHN BACHELOR! Norman’s comment says it all! Dopey move WOR/I Heart Radio’
“Loosing”??? Do you mean losing? And what is “loosening” in this context? “loosening for years”/
Can John Batchelor still be heard anywhere? Is he still broadcasting?
