Morano is filling in at the Atlantic City news/talk station in the 12-1 PM timeslot for AC Mike Lopez, who is on assignment.

“I’m especially excited to connect with WOND’s audience and dive into the issues that matter to the region,” said Morano, who noted he’s familiar with the region after vacationing in the New Jersey city regularly.

Frank Morano noted that WOND was one of the dozens of stations that carried his previous radio show — The Other Side of Midnight — which he departed earlier this year in an effort to run for New York City Council as a representative for Staten Island.

“This wasn’t a decision I made lightly—or one I made at all, frankly—but I completely understand the reasoning behind it,” Morano said when exiting the nationally syndicated show. “I’m incredibly grateful to the station’s ownership and management for the opportunity to do a show I loved, with a team I respected, for an audience I adored… I do hope to be back on the radio in some form soon. But for now, I’m off the air.”

It marks the first time that Morano has returned to radio since winning the special election to fill the vacant seat for Staten Island. Morano ran as a Republican for a seat on the council of Staten Island in a special election. After winning that special election, he now moves on to a Republican primary, where he needs to win again in order to attempt to win the seat in the general election in November.
