Last week, former New Jersey 101.5 morning host Bill Spadea fell in his bid to win the Republican nomination for governor in the state.
And after that loss, some have questioned whether a return to radio might be on the horizon. Spadea says he’ll have more information in the coming days.
In a post to social media, Bill Spadea spoke for the first time publicly since falling in the primary election to top opponent Jack Ciattarelli.
“Remember, ignore all the misinformation and nastiness coming from the other side,” Spadea wrote. “They fear our principled and focused movement so they continue to attack, disparage, and lie. Announcements on future plans coming soon. (By the way), happy to disappoint the haters, but we aren’t going ANYWHERE. That’s right, still DIGGIN’ IN!”
According to results published by Decision Desk HQ, Spadea finished second in a field of five behind Ciattearelli. He garnered just under 100,000 votes, good for 22% of the total votes cast by Republicans in the state. He did not win any of New Jersey’s 21 counties.
Spadea had spent nearly a decade hosting mornings at New Jersey 101.5. But in June last year, he announced he would seek the Republican nomination for Governor in the state. As the primary began to heat up, he departed the news/talk station in January in an effort to spend more time campaigning for the state’s highest office.
The station subsequently filled the open morning show with a more news-focused approach, with Eric Scott helming to program from 6-10 AM.

Bring Spadea back – Eric is a nice guy But he’s boring- I don’t listen everyday any longer- I hate Dennis and Judy and your other hosts are not what ai want to listen to eithet
Bring back Spadea!
Please bring Bill back! All Eric talks about is himself, food and drinks. This is supposed to be about NJ issues, not about Eric’s life. He’s so boring. I have to turn him off. NJ morning show is going to sink in ratings with this guy. Please bring Bill back.
