AM 560 The Answer host Amy Jacobson has exited Chicago’s Morning Answer on the Salem Media Group Chicago news/talk station, Barrett Media has learned.
Jacobson originally joined the station in 2010 and has most recently been teamed with Dan Proft in morning drive from 5-9 AM.
The news of Jacobson’s departure comes after she hosted the program as normal on Tuesday morning alongside guest host Chris Krok, who previously hosted at WBAP in Dallas, among other stops.
Last year, both Jacobson and Proft received strong pushback for comments made about Gus Walz, the son of then-Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz. After learning that Walz suffers from ADHD, an anxiety disorder, and a non-verbal learning disorder, the pair backtracked their comments and later showcased an on-air apology for their stances.
Jacobson subsequently left her position as a volleyball coach at a local high school after some angry residents questioned if someone who “mocked a child with a disability or that she sat there silently while somebody else did it and she didn’t speak up about it.”
Before joining AM 560 The Answer, Amy Jacobson was a contributor at WLS-AM 890 after previously working as an anchor/reporter at WMAQ-TV, also in Chicago.
Dan Proft remains in morning drive. It is yet to be determined if the station will pair him with anyone or if he will continue to helm the daypart by himself.

This is devastating! I looked forward to, as many have, turning on Dan and Amy Monday – Friday. A faithful listener from Southwest Michigan. Also, very much missing Mike Scott! Where is he?

All lies about Walz kid and secondly she was the heart of the show I used to listen to what a dumb move a move made by the lefty owners.
Trust me. Each and every time I joined via app to listen – and for some reason Dan was not on air, I would hastily – as soon as possible – change the channel to anywhere else. Amy is unable to host a show on her own. Her comments are vague, sophomoric and indigestible. Whenever Dan is not present, its an absurdity to listen to her belittle him, behind his back. She has no real Agenda for her fill-in time and is not at all professional, or reflective of Chicago households.

Amy may have been lightweight, but “smartest person in the room” Proft is insufferable and can’t hold the show on his own. Salem has a real problem in Chicago
