Matt Spatz and Amanda Casey have exited 97.5 WONE Akron, OH. The two took over mornings in January 2021 following the retirement of longtime market veteran Jeff Kinzbach.
In December of that year, Spatz added Program Director duties. It was the second tour of duty for both Spatz and Casey.
Spatz arrived from Youngstown, OH, where he programmed Y-103 and Real 95.9. His first stint with WONE was from 1994 to 1997.
Casey was previously with WONE from 2007 to 2010. She rejoined from Q104 in Cleveland, where she had hosted the midday show.
Station owner Rubber City Radio Group has not announced plans for the station’s morning show.

MISS THEIR “FUNNY”
So sad to hear this – the banter and chemistry of Spatz and Amanda were excellent. They were a literal part of my daily routine.
Nothing against Sandra Miller, who’s radio career has been outstanding, but cost-cutting two EXCELLENT personalities down to one is a mathematical (and practical) loss for the station. This might be enough to push me closer to Amazon Music or Sirius XM, I’m afraid.
Personally I think both of them were a little preachy. Sorry just my opinion. RIP Spatz and Amanda

Hope the song list will now get better, soooooo tired of listening to the same songs by the same groups; most especially AC/DC- guaranteed to be played every 40 minutes 😐.
Thank God they are gone. Now I can listen to 97.5 in the morning again. It is so great to not have to hear Amanda’s loud, obnoxious, annoying, fake laugh. Best thing that ever happened to morning radio
