WBAL Newsradio Afternoon Host Torrey Snow Departs

"We came in expecting to deliver a high-quality product. I think I delivered on that. It was a compelling show."

Date:

WBAL Newsradio afternoon host Torrey Snow has exited his role with the Baltimore news/talk station.

Snow’s final show with the station was last Thursday. He had been working at the station since 2019. He took over the 2-6 PM window in 2020.

In a post to social media, Snow revealed he had a new job, but was mum on details.

He shared that he had great appreciation for leaders and colleagues at WBAL after the station “rolled some dice” to add him to the daily lineup five years ago.

“I came in and threw my name in the hat with practically no radio experience,” Snow said. “I’d been doing some fill-in hosting. I didn’t really have a ton of roots … We came in expecting to deliver a high-quality product. I think I delivered on that. It was a compelling show. And my favorite thing about the show was that we had people from all different backgrounds.”

He later shared that he felt limited by the ability of the talk radio format to discuss items he was truly passionate about, like video games and space exploration. He said his new YouTube channel — which he’s dubbed Snow in the Know — will allow him to expand his content horizons.

“Just because of the nature of talk radio, we kind of have to stay in the lanes. It’s hard to talk about a spaceship blowing up when Donald Trump is dropping bombs in Iran,” he stated. “We’re just gonna have a little more fun. It’s gonna be a lot more laid back.”

WBAL NewsRadio has not yet announced plans to replace Snow in the 2-6 PM timeslot.
