Centennial Acquires 95.9 WGRQ, 104.5 WGRX in Fredericksburg

Centennial Broadcasting is expanding its portfolio with the addition of two stations in Fredericksburg, VA. The company has agreed to purchase Classic Hits 95.9 WGRQ and Country Thunder 104.5 WGRX from Telemedia.

Pending FCC approval, the stations will join the Centennial cluster that includes Hot AC B101.5 WBQB and Talker 1230 WFVA.

Centennial President and CEO Allen Shaw said, “This addition marks an important step in our growth strategy. No sale price was listed. The transaction is expected to close later this year.
