In the days following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, some have questioned who will replace him in the greater zeitgeist. The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh has a definitive answer.
Plenty of options on who will take the baton from Kirk and advance his mission have been thrown out as potential solutions. Ben Shapiro, Benny Johnson, and even Kirk’s widow, Erika, have been bandied about as those who could host his radio show and operate the Turning Point USA group he founded at 18.
However, Matt Walsh argued a different point of view in a post on social media.
“There’s a lot of discussion about who will ‘replace’ Charlie Kirk. The answer is that nobody will,” said Walsh.
“There won’t be a new Charlie, any more than there was a new Rush Limbaugh,” Walsh continued. “These men are irreplaceable. One of a kind. All we can do is continue the fight in our own way. Which we will. But there will never be another Charlie Kirk.”
Walsh — along with Michael Knowles and Shapiro from The Daily Wire — guest-hosted The Charlie Kirk Show on Tuesday alongside the program’s longtime executive producer Andrew Kolvet.
