106.5 The Wolf in Kansas City has announced it is adding Nick Russo to afternoon drive.
The move marks an expansion for Russo in the country radio sphere for Audacy. Currently, he serves as the afternoon host and music director at 100.3 The Bull, the Wolf’s sister station in Houston.
Russo has been at 100.3 The Bull for more than a decade. He originally joined as a weekend host in 2014 before ascending to nights in 2015 and afternoons a year later.
“If you’ve been in Kansas City the last couple of days you may have heard my voice!” Russo shared in a post on social media. “Stoked to announce I’m now hosting Afternoons on 106.5 The Wolf in KC along with my show in Houston! Thankfully, technology allows me to stay in Houston, but will be planning a visit soon!”
Previous stops include working in San Antonio and Corpus Christi in both the country and CHR formats.
Nick Russo replaces Jeff “Shotgun” Jaxon in afternoons on the station. He Had been on the station for nearly 20 years, and in the market for more than 30 years, before being the subject of budget cuts last month. Morning co-host, assistant program director, and music director Codie Allen also exited 106.5 The Wolf at the same time as Jaxon.
