Bob Fisher was one of dozens of employees cut by Alpha Media in 2024 in a round of widespread layoffs. He’s now set to return to 1300 KGLO in Mason City, Iowa after the station was acquired by Connoisseur Media.
Fisher exited the station in May of last year after spending nearly three decades with the station. He later joined Coloff Media in Mason City in August of last year. However, now he’s set to return to the Connoisseur Media news/talk station as its new News & Sports Director.
“It’s great to be back to help re-establish KGLO as ‘Your Hometown News Station in North-Central Iowa’ as well as to continue to provide vital local information to our listeners,” said Fisher. “With their recent purchase of the radio stations, Connoisseur Media has shown a commitment to serving north-central Iowans with quality, local based information.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Bob back with Connoisseur Media in Mason City,” added Market Manager Dalena Barz. “He has been a well-respected voice in our community for over 30 years. He’s always been an integral part of our radio family, and we sincerely say – Welcome back Bob!”
As part of his duties, Fisher will provide newscasts for both 1300 KGLO and the entire Mason City cluster between 6 AM-5 PM. He’ll also call Clear Lake High School sports for sister station 1490/96.7 KRIB.
