With Elle Duncan set to depart ESPN, that’s leading to an expansion for Christine Williamson.

Duncan’s contract with ESPN is ending, and she’ll move to Netflix to head up the network’s sports programming, which was announced earlier this fall.

However, Christine Williamson is set to take over Duncan’s position on the 6 PM ET SportsCenter, as well as her role as host of the women’s basketball version of College GameDay. Williamson — who originally joined ESPN in 2019 — will begin hosting SportsCenter alongside Kevin Negandhi in January.

“Christine has earned these high-profile roles on two of our most important content areas – SportsCenter and women’s college basketball,” said ESPN President of Content Burke Magnus. “Christine connects with fans through her energy, personality and knowledge of sports, and she’s proven throughout her ESPN career that she can anchor coverage at the highest level — both on SportsCenter and on the road with GameDay.”

Currently, Williamson works as an anchor of the Noon and 2 PM ET editions of SportsCenter. Duncan’s final SportsCenter broadcast is reportedly set for Tuesday, December 16th.

Malika Andrews is reportedly set to replace Duncan on ESPN’s WNBA host.
