On Monday, Erika Kirk revealed that she would be having a private, in-person meeting with Candace Owens to address public comments made about her husband’s assassination. Following the meeting, both women were in agreement about how things went.
In recent weeks, Owens has shared many theories and what she claimed was evidence of a conspiracy to betray the Turning Point USA founder by those inside his organization.
During a CBS News town hall event on Saturday, Kirk repeatedly asked Owens to stop making the accusations. Those comments came after she had argued that Candace Owens had enriched herself following Kirk’s death by sharing the accusations, earning higher viewership figures on YouTube in the process.
In a post on social media following the meeting, Candace Owens shared that it was “an extremely productive 4.5 hour meeting,” stating that she believed both she and Kirk “feel (the meeting) should have taken place a lot earlier than it did.”
“We agreed much more than I had anticipated,” Owens said. “Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent. I will of course have a full rundown for you all tomorrow as I am currently exhausted, but I wanted to quickly let you guys know that absolutely nothing was held back and the immediate result was that tensions were thawed.”
Following Owens’ comments on the matter, Erika Kirk posted her own statement. She agreed that it was a “very productive conversation.”
“More to come from both of us,” she added, before noting, “Time to get back to work.”
