NBC Sports is adding star power to its latest Sunday showcase. Former All-Star pitcher Mark Gubicza and four-time Gold Glove winner Eric Hosmer will join this week’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast.
The matchup features Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels visiting Bobby Witt Jr. and the Kansas City Royals. First pitch is Sunday, April 26 at 7 p.m. ET. The game airs on Peacock and NBCSN from Kauffman Stadium.
Jason Benetti will handle play-by-play duties. Gubicza and Hosmer join him in the booth.
During key at-bats, Inside the Pitch analyst Adam Ottavino will break down pitch strategy.
Ahmed Fareed hosts the pregame show. He is joined by analyst Dexter Fowler. Fowler and Ottavino will remain part of NBC Sports’ MLB coverage in 2026.
Gubicza brings deep Royals ties. He spent 13 seasons with Kansas City. He helped the club win the 1985 World Series. He later joined the Angels. He now enters his 20th season as a TV analyst. He earned a Southern California Sports Broadcaster Award in 2022.
Hosmer also built his reputation in Kansas City. He played seven seasons with the club. He helped deliver the 2015 World Series title. He remains the franchise’s all-time postseason RBI leader.
Hosmer now works with MLB Network and the Royals. He also contributes to Apple TV’s MLB coverage.
