Newsmax Adds Emma Rechenberg to ‘First Edition’ Morning Show

"We’ll talk politics and news of the day, plus so much more. Hope you’ll tune in!"

Date:

After departing Newsmax’s National Report, anchor Emma Rechenberg has a new assignment with the network.

What We Know: Rechenberg hosted National Report alongside Shaun Kraisman. However, after stepping away for maternity leave, she teased a new role at Newsmax. We now know that she’ll anchor First Edition on Newsmax2, the streaming/over-the-air network. That show airs from 7-9 AM ET. Rechenberg has worked at the network since 2020.

What They Said: “My next chapter at Newsmax starts this week with a new show, new studio, and new way to watch … We’ll talk politics and news of the day, plus so much more. Hope you’ll tune in!” -Emma Rechenberg

What Remains Unclear: What precipitated the changes at both National Report and for Rechenberg. Both she and Kraisman have departed the Newsmax midday show, with Kraisman leaving the network entirely.

What It Means: Newmax has put resources into its Newsmax2 streaming and over-the-air network. It now has dozens of terrestrial stations carrying the program. Putting an established anchor like Emma Rechenberg in morning drive should only help the network moving forward.

  1. Hate these changes. Had a great duo that were well informed and easy to listen to. Now we’re supposed to have a.m. coffee with a screeching harpie. what a lousy decision. guess we’re going back to RAV.

    • I agree. Bring back Krisia and her sidekick. And, get rid of stroons (sp) Napolitano. Don’t get airtime to that Grant nut job either.

    • I’m so disappointed with the new anchors on First Edition also. her voice is so annoying! I use to love watching , now I turn to Fox.

  2. Was totally disappointed tuning into First Edition this morning. Will miss seeing John and Kysia. May find another morning news show to watch 😟

  3. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
Bring back the regular lineup. Wreck-in-a-burg is as dry as a popcorn fart. the dude is a milqetoast. ugh

  4. Lydia and E.D. are way better together. Their personalities are a much better match. I think Newsmax could see it too. There was nothing dynamic about Shaun and Emma. Maternity leave was a good time to make the change.

  5. Really not liking the two new hosts on First Edition. Started looking elsewhere and there are some good options.

  6. I am thrilled at the fresh changes to First Edition! The new anchors are naturally friendly and happy and are a welcome change.

  7. I too agree with all the responses. Really liked John and Kysia. The reporting and easiness was comfortable. The new team is grating and uncomfortable

  8. Won’t watch anymore John and Krysta were fabulous. John dresses like a million bucks and both were outstanding. What is the network thinking? Bring them back.

  9. I’m done with Newsmax. What a bad decision to get rid of Krysia and John. They were very compatible and fun to watch. They had a great rapport with one another. I was upset with Chris Salcedo and Wendy Bell. Now this.
