Simon Conway has exited mornings at WFLA Orlando. WFLA Orlando replaced him with syndicated programming after Friday’s final local broadcast.
What We Know: Simon Conway’s run hosting Good Morning Orlando ended Friday after the station cancelled the local morning program. Conway originally joined WFLA Orlando in 2023 after hosting afternoons at sister station 1040 WHO in Des Moines. He hosted mornings for the Orlando news/talk outlet remotely from Iowa. Beginning Monday, Your Morning Show with Michael DelGiorno replaced the local program. The move leaves WFLA Orlando with a lineup that is almost entirely built around Premiere Networks programming. Glenn Beck follows DelGiorno, while The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show airs from noon until 3 PM. Dana Loesch remains the lone non-Premiere Networks host from 3-6 PM before Our American Stories, The Jesse Kelly Show, and Coast to Coast AM. Additionally, Conway made his comments in a post on social media.

What Remains Unclear: iHeartMedia hasn’t publicly explained why it ended Good Morning Orlando. Likewise, the company hasn’t detailed whether the decision reflects broader programming strategy or cost considerations. It’s also unclear whether Conway will continue exclusively with his afternoon role on 1040 WHO or pursue additional opportunities.
What It Means: The change further shifts WFLA Orlando toward a fully syndicated approach. As a result, local programming now occupies a much smaller role in the station’s weekday schedule. The move also reflects an industry trend in which operators increasingly rely on nationally distributed talent instead of locally produced news/talk programming.
