The Ringer is heading back to Twitch, at least for one show. The network’s flagship gambling podcast has a new name and a livestream.
What We Know: The Ringer Gambling Show is now Ringer Wise Guys, and every episode will stream live on Twitch. Additionally, the show stays available across all podcast platforms in both audio and video form. Notably, The Ringer distributed content on Twitch before Spotify acquired the network in 2020, so this marks a return rather than a debut. Twitch’s audience also skews young and male according to a recent study, with roughly 73% of users under 35 and about 63% male.
What They Said: Bill Simmons, Spotify’s head of talk strategy, announced the move in a social media post. “We renamed the Ringer Gambling Show — ‘Ringer Wise Guys.’ Doing every episode live on Twitch. Avail on all pod platforms as well obviously.”
What Remains Unclear: The release doesn’t specify a launch date or streaming schedule for the live episodes. Furthermore, it’s unclear whether other Ringer podcasts will eventually join Wise Guys on Twitch.
What It Means: This move signals Spotify’s continued push into live, video-first audio content. By returning to Twitch, The Ringer taps directly into a young, male-heavy audience that aligns well with gambling programming. Meanwhile, the rebrand suggests Spotify wants Wise Guys positioned as a flagship betting show rather than a niche offering.
