Rob Kendall is joining the lineup at 1230 WJOB in Hammond, Indiana. The move brings his YouTube show to radio after his departure from 93 WIBC.
What We Know: Kendall previously served as the midday host at 93 WIBC in Indianapolis before exiting earlier this year. His departure followed several months of working without a contract as he and the station couldn’t reach a long-term agreement. After leaving 93 WIBC, Kendall launched a new show on YouTube. Now, 1230 WJOB will air the program on its 104.7 FM translator and 1230 AM signal. Initially, the station will carry the first hour of Kendall’s YouTube program. However, that could eventually expand into a full two-hour block.

What Remains Unclear: WJOB hasn’t announced when or whether Kendall’s program will expand beyond its initial one-hour broadcast. The station also hasn’t detailed how the show will fit into its broader programming lineup. For now, listeners can expect only the first hour of the YouTube program to make the transition to the radio signal. Further changes could come as Kendall establishes the show on WJOB.
What It Means: Kendall’s move gives him another traditional radio outlet after leaving 93 WIBC and moving his program to YouTube. At the same time, WJOB gains a familiar talk radio voice with an established audience in the Indianapolis market. The arrangement also highlights how broadcasters can use digital programming as a pathway back onto terrestrial radio. If the show expands to two hours, Kendall could play a larger role in WJOB’s daily lineup.
