Clancy, a Massachusetts mother, faces charges connected to the deaths of her three young children. The documentary will examine evidence and testimony presented during the proceedings. Additionally, Entin will interview Rusty Yates, the ex-husband of Andrea Yates. His first national television appearance since Clancy’s trial began will draw comparisons between the two cases.
What’s at Stake: The special arrives as Clancy’s trial has renewed national attention on postpartum mental health and criminal responsibility. Andrea Yates’ case became a major flashpoint in those discussions after she was accused of killing her five children. Now, the Clancy case has raised similar questions about mental health, medical treatment, and criminal responsibility.
