Minnesota Timberwolves Add Kevin Calabro, Jon “Boog” Sciambi To Television Play By Play

"With the first year partnering with DAZN, the organization is elevating their local calls to include several veteran names."

Date:

The Minnesota Timberwolves have revealed their broadcast team for the 2026-27 season. Veteran voices Kevin Calabro and Jon “Boog” Sciambi will handle play-by-play duties on DAZN.

What We Know: First, Calabro brings more than four decades of NBA experience, including 21 seasons calling Seattle SuperSonics games. He also served nine seasons as Portland’s TV voice and called three NBA Finals on radio. Meanwhile, Sciambi calls Chicago Cubs games on Marquee Sports Network and handles MLB and Big 12 basketball for ESPN. Previously, he was the voice of the Florida Marlins and Atlanta Braves. Jim Petersen, the organization’s celebrated color analyst, returns for his 29th season. Meghan McPeak joins as the new sideline reporter and studio show host for road games.

What’s At Stake: In its announcement, the team said the lineup reflects its commitment to meeting fans where they consume sports. With the first year partnering with DAZN, the organization is elevating their local calls to include several veteran names. Additionally, the organization described the group as a dynamic collection of voices for fans to follow.

What Remains Unclear: However, several details remain unsettled. For example, the team has not revealed the over-the-air channel carrying 15 of its 67 local games. It also has not explained how Calabro and Sciambi will split the schedule. Similarly, the number of TV games radio voice Alan Horton will call is still unknown.

What It Means: Ultimately, the Wolves are pairing their new DAZN deal with proven talent. With new names balancing with proven and familiar ones in Petersen, Horton, as well as Michael Grady returning for his fifth season, the organization is mixing things up ahead of the excitement of a new season. As a result, fans get fresh national voices, returning faces all combined with a new viewing experience with DAZN.
