Dana Johnson will leave KFROG at the end of 2026 after nearly a decade of her second tenure. The Audacy San Bernardino country host is moving to Columbus, Ohio, for a new radio opportunity.
What We Know: Johnson announced her departure in a social media video, revealing that she and her husband are moving to Columbus after previously relocating to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Although she left California more than two years ago, Johnson continued working remotely for KFROG and its Audacy country sister station, 103.7 KSON in San Diego. In addition to hosting middays, she served as Director of Promotions and Live Events for both brands. Johnson originally joined KFROG in 2007 before departing to work on The Big Time with Whitney Allen. She returned to the station in 2019 and has continued serving its audience remotely.
On Monday morning, it was announced that Johnson will be taking a morning co-host position at 92.3 WCOL in Columbus. She will be paired with Dan E. Zuko. He remains in the daypart after the exit of Kayla Hanley earlier this year.
What They Said: “This is a decision I have made on my own … I’ve been so grateful that we’ve been able to make KFROG and KSON work remotely … There is a big opportunity in radio, in Columbus, that I couldn’t pass up. At the end of the year, I will be leaving KFROG. KFROG is my life. I grew up on KFROG. I listened to KFROG for as long as I can remember. To being able to work here has been a dream.” -Dana Johnson
What Remains Unclear: Neither Audacy nor Johnson has shared details about who will succeed her on KFROG’s midday show or assume her promotions and live events responsibilities.
What It Means: Johnson’s exit will end a significant chapter with KFROG, where she built a career spanning two separate tenures. Meanwhile, her move to Columbus will give her an opportunity to continue working in radio while joining a new market.
