CNN will launch a new daytime lineup in April, featuring more newsgathering and breaking news coverage.
CNN News Central will feature three anchors hosting three-hour blocks from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM ET and 1:00-4:00 PM ET.
Inside Politics — anchored by John King — will remain in 12:00 PM window.
Former New Day anchor John Berman will be joined by Kate Bolduan and Sara Sidner for the morning portion of the program from New York, a report from Deadline claims. Brianna Keilar, Boris Sanchez, and Jim Sciutto will anchor the afternoon timeslot from Washington.
The new daytime lineup comes at a time when CNN seeks both viewership gains and stability in its offerings. The network averaged a total audience of 474,000 in February. That number represents a 24% drop from February 2022.
The network continues to toy with the pivotal 9:00 PM ET time window. Currently, it is using the hour to produce special programming hosted by a variety of anchors. However, the network reportedly plans to fill that open slot with a variety of programs, including the rumored pairing of Gayle King and Charles Barkley.
