NPR has named Tasha Diakides as its Executive Producer for its Newscast division.
Diakides joins the public broadcaster after spending more than 20 years as a reporter and producer at CNN.
“NPR‘s journalism isn’t just international, economic, and political headlines, it’s news for the way we live,” said Diakides. “I look forward to being a part of the front lines of bringing that essential storytelling to listeners, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.”
“After a nationwide search, I’m pleased to announce that Tasha Diakides will be NPR’s Executive Producer for Newscast,” added News Programming Vice President Eric Marrapodi. “We’re looking forward to Tasha stepping in and leading the indefatigable and unflappable Newscast unit to new heights.”
She will step into the role previously occupied by Giles Snyder. Snyder served as acting executive producer but will return to his duties as a news anchor for the network.
Diakides will begin her tenure on Tuesday, September 5th.
