94.5 The Answer in Dayton is no more, with the station giving way to a simulcast of an oldies network in the region.
The station had been leased by Salem Media Group under an LMA with owner Delmarva Educational Association. However, that agreement came to an end, paving the way for the new format.
The Oasis — which is heard on 97.7 and 106.7 FM in nearby Mason, Ohio and in northern Kentucky and is owned by Randy Michaels — will now be heard on the station.
Previously, 94.5 The Answer featured programming from the Salem Radio Network, while also broadcasting The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
The market remains served in the news/talk format by 95.7 WHIO, which finished sixth overall in the most recent 12+ ratings from Nielsen. Dayton also features a news/talk station from iHeartMedia on 1430 WIZE, which includes programming from the Black Information Network.

How is this a good move financially? The number of Ohioans listening to oldies is not growing, so what’s the deal?
Terrible move.
We are so sad!
I guess I will just have to listen on the web, but my technological challenged husband, if I am not around to set the program…
Ever wonder why there was so little local advertising on The Answer? Why wouldn’t local businesses want to advertise on a station that carried the number one afternoon talk show in the country? I think it’s pretty clear that the large media company that owns the other talk radio station in town successfully froze them out. With no revenue, the station was unsustainable. It’s a pretty unethical business practice, and that’s why I won’t be tuning in over there.
Our only hope is that if Salem media was leasing 94.5, maybe they will lease a different local station. We can only hope!
I really enjoyed Salem Radio and miss it very much. Wish this hadn’t happened. Though I am an oldie, I am not interested in the oldies format
I started listening to the Oasis oldies a few years ago and as soon as I got hooked on the various music that they played, they sold the station..and, no more oldies. I won’t be listening to ‘the other” talk radio station either They interrupt programming to tell you it’s raining. I think this was a bad move on Salem’s part. Let’s watch and see how long it takes before “the Oasis” sells to someone else? I will seek on line ways to listen Larry Elder, Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Mike Gallagher and the others without, hopefully, patronizing Salem Media.
what are you guys a bunch of liberal pinko-democrats what did you take clay and buck off who’s listening to old music who cares about that crap and we’re missing Larry Elder also; BAD DECISION!
Very unhappy to turn my radio on this morning and my morning talk show was gone!! That crappy music you are playing now is terrible. Conservative radio is few and far between—so I am hoping another station will pick up the talk programs. Very Very unhappy!!!
I was very disappointed to turn on radio, and hearing oldies music, instead of my favorite conservative radio hosts. Mike Gallagher in the mornings, and Clay and Buck on in the afternoon. I listen now on Salem network. Hopefully someone local will pick them up.
Happy camper here. I am so happy to have The Oasis back on in Dayton.
94.5 FM radio/talk only told the truth exposing people like Barack Hussein Obama, Hakeem Jeffries (and his brother Hassan Jeffries), Kamala Harris (India mother), Zohran Mandani ((India parents and he was not born in the USA). This is what I learned which is educational to know these people are not MAGA (Make America Great Again) -United States of America 🇺🇸!
Mark Levine, Travis and Clay, American Armed radio and others kept us aware who were for the United States and who were against the American people. Zohran Mandana wants to legalize prostitution, get rid of the police, get rid of American protection which is legal guns. Zohran Mandani wants us without protection; however, his wedding had all kind of protection.
I thank all who worked by educating and making American aware of the truth. 🙏🇺🇸♥️
I will no longer be listening. I enjoyed the break from some of of music stations to hear some great conservative talk shows that shared the truth. IT was nice having shows share the truth of what is going on in USA
I loved almost everything about 94.5 The Answer except the commercials (which were all government adds). I would run into people all over Dayton who listened consistently.
