Last week’s 2025 BNM Summit united the news/talk media industry in New York City. I want to thank everyone who attended and supported the show. We are recharging for a bit before deciding how we want to proceed in 2026. I want the Summit to be valuable for all format professionals. To do that, we need the right people in the room. We also have to continue evolving to keep the show fresh, compelling, and important.
We’ve had the pleasure of running this conference in Nashville, Washington D.C., and New York City. Last week, forty of the industry’s sharpest and most influential and successful voices and leaders graced the Ailey Theater stage. The knowledge shared by programmers, talent, and leading executives made the room smarter and better prepared, and the hallway and after-party networking helped folks boost business. All of these things matter, and are why we decided to launch this event in the first place.
In prior years, we’ve made the sessions available for free to attendees behind a paywall. Folks who weren’t there could pay to access the content too. This year, we’re doing it different. ALL sessions from the show are posted for FREE on YouTube.
Go to the Barrett Media YouTube channel (please subscribe) and watch what you’re most interested in. The only things not included are my opening/closing statements, and the transitions between sessions. Also available are the individual videos for our awards recipients. The Barrett Media Minute, which we produce daily to keep professionals informed of the industry’s biggest news of the day is also posted.
To make the news/talk format stronger, we need more of these conversations. I want industry folks to see and hear the content, and make time to join us in the room. If I could get some of you from the back row of the theater to the front too, that’d be great haha.
In all seriousness, it’s easy to stay in your office, focus on the task in front of you, and create reasons for why you can’t come. But then something changes in your professional life and you kick yourself for not having made the trip sooner. The best way to ensure your future is to invest in it. You do that by increasing relationships and knowledge.
My thanks again to everyone who spent time with us in the big apple. A huge shout out to Newsmax for serving as our Presenting sponsor. Special thanks to Premiere Networks for supporting the Awards ceremony. When we know our plans for 2026, I’ll update you here. In the meantime, continued success to all who are working to make the industry and news/talk format stronger.
