CNN has agreed to a partnership with global prediction market company Kalshi to bring that company’s data to the network’s journalism.
As part of the partnership, CNN will utilize Kalshi data across its television, digital, and social media channels to provide context and information surrounding the prediction market company’s collection of content.
The data will be included in the company’s ticker and will also be referenced when discussing predictions related to politics, news, weather, and culture.
“CNN is renowned for accurate, fact-based journalism and analysis that helps audiences understand what’s happening,” CNN Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development Sam Felix said. “By partnering with Kalshi to showcase prediction market data in our programming, CNN journalists will have a fresh, data-based angle from which to explore and better understand the world around us.”
CNN Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten will utilize the information from Kalshi during his reporting on air and on the network’s streaming home. It will also be included in his analysis and fact-checking efforts.
The announcement of the collabroation comes on the heels of Kalshi revealing it has secured $1 billion in a round of fundraising that values the company at $11 billion.
