On Tuesday, Candace Owens asserted that she had uncovered information showing that Turning Point USA had “betrayed” Charlie Kirk in advance of his assassination.
In a post on social media, Owens said that she has been given new details that “put the final pieces together for me.”
“I now can say with full confidence that I believe Charlie Kirk was betrayed by the leadership of Turning Point USA and some of the very people who eulogized him on stage,” Owens said.
“Yes, I will be naming names and providing evidence for my claims,” she continued. “And I am making a personal plea to every well-meaning person who donated to this Godforsaken organization to request a refund. You were lied to. And leadership knew.”
On her podcast, Owens said she was given a tip that there was a deal worth “potentially billions of dollars” between Pierre DuPont of the DuPont family and company, and Turning Point USA.
She shared that there was a phone call placed to DuPont in the immediate aftermath of Kirk’s assassination, claiming that as proof that Kirk had turned down a “big money offer” that he famously denied. Owens attempted to connect the dots between the rebuffed offer and Kirk’s assassination, without expressly stating she believed there was a conspiracy to kill the organization’s founder.
In the aftermath of Owens’ social media post and claims on her podcast, many media members — especially those in the conservative media ecosystem — shared their skepticism of Owens.
