Jessica Williams has exited Townsquare Media. The Brand Manager and afternoon host departed KYBA Y105 in Stewartville/Rochester, Minnesota.
What We Know Williams held the position since 2017. She also served as a national afternoon tracker for most of Townsquare’s AC stations. Before KYBA, she worked at WHOM Portland, WOBM-FM Toms River, WJLT Evansville, KDAT Cedar Rapids, and WLZW Utica. Prior to radio, Williams held marketing, fitness, and real estate positions in Rochester and the Twin Cities.
What They Said Williams announced the news via Facebook. “Today, I was called into an unexpected meeting and told that I had just done my last show with Townsquare Media,” she explained. “There was no chance to say goodbye on the air. No final song.” She expressed deep gratitude to listeners. “Thank you for letting me hang out with you during your drive home, at work, while you were making dinner,” Williams wrote. Importantly, she also thanked nonprofits for allowing her to amplify their voices.
What Remains Unclear The exact circumstances surrounding her departure remain unknown. Furthermore, Williams hasn’t announced her next career move. She’s currently managing a significant life transition. “I’m moving one of my kids to college this week,” she noted. Subsequently, she acknowledged uncertainty about her path forward.
What It Means Townsquare continues experiencing turnover across its stations. Meanwhile, Williams’ exit removes an experienced voice from the AC format. Her departure also impacts the company’s national afternoon tracking initiative. Finally, industry observers will watch for her next chapter closely.
