Garth Brooks and TuneIn are parting ways. The SEVENS Radio Network partnership ends today after launching just three channels.
What We Know: Two of the three SEVENS Radio channels sign off today. Tailgate Radio and The Garth Channel cease operations immediately. Additionally, The BIG 615 continues through year-end but without Brooks’ involvement or SEVENS oversight. Importantly, The BIG 615 debuted in June 2023 as a Mainstream Country outlet. Then Tailgate Radio launched in August as TuneIn’s Official Gameday Party Station. Finally, The Garth Channel relaunched in November 2023 after leaving SiriusXM in 2022.
What They Said: Brooks praised both organizations despite the breakup. The Stingray family has been fantastic in the transition along with TuneIn’s people, he stated. “We couldn’t be happier with the three years we have spent with them and wish them well on their future endeavors and hope we cross paths in the future.” Thus, he emphasized the positive relationship maintained throughout their time together.
What Remains Unclear: The fate of the on-air talent remains uncertain. Storme Warren (The BIG 615 voice), Program Director Bob Richards, and Music Director Monta Vaden’s status is unknown. Meanwhile, Brooks hasn’t announced where he’s heading next. Furthermore, Stingray Media, the parent company of TuneIn, has made no public statements regarding the channels’ future direction.
What I Means: Brooks intends to pursue new broadcast and multimedia initiatives in the coming months. The artist clearly maintains ambitions in the digital audio space. However, the short lifespan of SEVENS Radio demonstrates the challenge of sustaining branded network channels. Ultimately, competition in streaming audio continues reshaping celebrity-backed audio ventures.
