Capital Sports Audio has landed a new distribution partner. The company will now provide sports audio content to Associated Press Broadcasting.
What We Know: Under the deal, AP Broadcasting gains access to all CSA audio content. That includes postgame packages, non-game voicers and overnight sportscasts. In addition, the partnership covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA Tour, major tennis tournaments, NASCAR and Premier League football. Notably, the agreement arrives just six months after CSA launched.
What They Said: Ron Vample, executive producer, Digital Audio & Radio with AP: “Sports is an important part of what we deliver to our customers, and this partnership with Capital Sports Audio gives us an opportunity to strengthen that coverage with more timely, high-quality content. We’re excited about what this partnership will mean for our customers and audiences.”
CSA CEO Dave Ferry: “This is a full-circle moment for Capital Sports Audio, since many of our reporters were long-time Associated Press Broadcasting stringers. We are excited to be associated with the AP once again and are ready to provide excellent, broadcast-quality content.”
What Remains Unclear: Meanwhile, neither side disclosed financial terms or the length of the agreement. It also remains unclear whether the deal is exclusive. For more information, please reach out to dave.ferry@capitalsportsaudio.com.
What It Means: For CSA, the deal further expands its reach across the radio industry. Already, the company covers the entire NFL postgame schedule and at least 60% of MLB, NBA and NHL action. It also publishes packages for every NASCAR Cup race and PGA Tour event from mid-March through the Tour Championship. Ultimately, AP gets a deeper sports bench while CSA reconnects with a familiar partner.
