Nashville’s 102.5 The Game has named Connor Nute and Nick Frazier the new co-hosts of Next Man Up. The move comes as host Jake Lyman leaves for a role with Virginia Tech.
What We Know: Nute and Frazier will take over the station’s midday program beginning Monday. Meanwhile, Lyman is heading to Blacksburg to join Virginia Tech. Both new hosts have previously filled in on the show as co-host and producer. In fact, Nute started as an intern nearly five years ago before moving into producing and weekend hosting.

Jake Lyman on the promotion of Nick Frazer and Connor Nute: “Congratulations to Nick [Frazier] and Connor [Nute]. I’m glad that The Next Man up mantle can be passed on to you guys. You guys have been so integral to my career here. Starting on Forrest Company and everything that you guys have done for this show. Whether that’s filling in as my co-host, filling in as my producer. You guys have been such a huge part of this show, and I consider you both great friends. So, congratulations to both of you!”
Nick Frazier on becoming the new co-host of Next Man Up: “I’m very thankful for the opportunity from our boss man here, Chase McCabe, for allowing Connor [Nute] and I to continue the running of the torch here. Which is going to be fantastic. I’m just thrilled for your [Jake Lyman] success and your future going forward in Blacksburg.”
Connor Nute on becoming the new co-host of Next Man Up: “It’s truly a dream. When I stepped foot into this building as an intern a little close to five years ago, the dream was to be behind that desk one day. Slowly working up as a highlight producer, to producing live shows, to hosting on weekends. Now I get to host every day with [Nick] Frazier. I think I speak for both of us when I say we are absolutely honored to be able to take what you have built and carry it forward.”
What Remains Unclear: Any additional terms or agreements with the promotion are unknown.
What It Means: The move keeps Next Man Up in familiar hands. Moreover, it reinforces 102.5 The Game’s strategy of developing talent from within. As a result, two young voices now anchor a key daypart in Nashville. Ultimately, the promotion rewards years of behind-the-scenes work at the station. As for Lyman, his short time hosting on The Game along with his work at Vanderbilt earned him an opportunity to return to his alma mater.
